Or Hell?
The blizzard of 2013 started yesterday. We are all on lock down here in Massachusetts. The Governor has stated that if you are caught out in the blizzard it is a $500.00 fine or possibly up to a year in jail. I get that they don't want the gawkers out in this storm.
They are saying we have 24 inches and possibly will be getting up to 30 inches with 10 foot snowbanks. It is supposed to wind down at around 2pm today.
I had no plans so I really don't mind. I will however mind when I do have to go out. The town does a horrible job plowing and I can only imagine what secondary roads will be like.
I went to the grocery store on Thursday and it was a nightmare. That is my normal shopping day anyway. I really should have gone on Wednesday. Why does everyone need bread and milk when there is a storm? I just don't get it. You don't have that in your house already and need to stock up? If you didn't have it then you don't really need it unless of course you just happened to run out.
My husband went to get gas and the line was all the way out to the street.
Junk food fest will begin later. It is the end of the world right?
I think it would be a good day for a nice big breakfast. As you can see, all I can think about is food. What else is there to do in a storm? The news is boring because there is nobody out in the storm. I don't need to watch them showing me the snow on TV. I can look right out my window and see it.

I may have to look in the basement and see if I saved my kids sleds.
I just wish my husband still had his riding snow blower so that he could pull me around in the sled.
Happy hour will probably commence earlier than usual. Do you blame me?
Pretty high snowbank
That is in fact my buried mailbox
I have an overhang over my front door but when I opened the door, this is what I got.
These are my husbands best friends, his grills, buried.
This is my sliding door in the family room. See how high the snow is on the deck?
I hope everyone enjoys their weekend. Please get out in your car and go somewhere for me.
Can winter be over yet?
My son has been texting us pics from the storm in CT. He has started shoveling out already. Stay safe and yes, happy hour should begin as soon as possible!
ReplyDeleteWow - we only ended up with 4 inches. You win :-)
ReplyDeleteMake the whole weekend happy hour! Stay safe and warm.
It's not Hell or the snow would have already melted :-)
ReplyDeleteI do believe this is winter's last hooray. Last night we got our one day of snow a year...the 4" will be gone before dinner.
Enjoy your happy hour!
Holly
Wow! That is a lot! Where I find the snow so pretty, that is excessive I have to say. Have a good happy hour, stay warm and cozy and just enjoy family time.
ReplyDeleteAt age 41, I have not outgrown hoping for snow days!
ReplyDeleteStay warm. Big breakfasts and early happy hours are not only acceptable, they're expected.
Hope you are not getting cabin fever too bad
ReplyDeleteI remember living in Philly in '96 and experiencing my one and only of these storms
fun, but not
Brett
