My birthday week so far

I have had a great week so far. Wednesday night, my husband and I, had a nice quiet barbecue with some nice steaks and grilled artichokes. My daughter went shopping after work so we had some alone time.

Thursday my husband brought these home for me.

Friday morning when I woke up, my husband asked me if I wanted to come into work with him in Boston. We would take my daughter to lunch and then go out with the kids after work. I would have to occupy myself for a few hours between lunch and happy hour and wait for everyone to be done with work. I was in Boston, of course I could occupy myself. It was a beautiful day. We didn't go into Boston until about 1:00 and we immediately met up with my daughter for lunch. After lunch, they both went back to their offices and left me to my own devices. I of course went shopping. I didn't really buy too much, I just wasn't in the mood. It was fun to look though. When I was done shopping, I got an ice coffee and just sat and people watched. It's so nice to get out of the suburbs once and awhile but I am so glad I am not a part of the rat race. Thanks honey.

The Leonard P. Zakim Bridge. We drive over this to get into the city. I love this bridge. It fascinates me every time. The architecture is amazing.

I really didn't have much time to people watch because it was time to go out for drinks.
We went to a roof top bar that overlooks Boston harbor. It was a beautiful night and we had a great time. My daughter joined us as well.

My daughter's first happy hour in the city after work.

There was a night time cruise leaving the harbor so we had some great people watching. It was a neon cruise. The outfits....well I will let you see for yourself. I do want to know why all of the girls get all dolled up and the boys look like they are going to a sporting event?

I pretended I was texting while meanwhile I was snapping pictures left and right.
According to what I was seeing, my daughters dresses aren't that short after all.

This girl didn't get the memo on what to wear. A leather coat and boots? She must have been sweating, it was pretty hot.

Yes I saved the best for last. The bouncer was talking to these girls because he knew them. The girl talked like Snookie and said she would be back later, she had a "gig". I am going to take a stab at guessing what that gig was (notice the hoola hoop?) ..... I wish I got a picture of her from the front because her whole stomach was covered in body paint.
I told the bouncer he had the best job in the world. He gets to people watch all night. He said it was all fun and games until the end of the night when he sometimes gets in fist fights with drunk boys and girls. Times have sure changed.

On Saturday my daughter took me for a manicure and pedicure. It was a lousy day out so it was the perfect thing to do. I was still tired from the day before. What can I say, I am old.  We went grocery shopping early in the morning so that I wouldn't have to go by myself.  In the afternoon we caught up on all of our favorite shows and napped.

It is a gorgeous day today so I will be walking and trying to get some end of summer sun. I do not feel like going to the outlets at all. It is that glorious out. Later on, is rib fest 2012. I am trying to use up things I have before barbecue season ends. Happy hour will commence around 4. Tomorrow the Patriots play the Philadelphia Eagles. For some reason the Eagles are probably my second favorite team (it could be because of the Mark Wahlberg or as I like to call him "Mahhhky Mahhk"  movie, Invincible). I have 2 more days of pre-birthday festivities. I wonder what it will bring?

Relax and enjoy your Sunday!
