A day without Spanx is like a day spent frolicking on the beach

I worked yesterday. I wore a form fitting sweater dress. I did NOT need my Spanx! This is probably the first time since football season started that I can go to work on a Monday in something form fitting, and not need Spanx.

I eat with abandon during my Sunday football games and I pay the price. Gone are the days of having to drink milkshakes every day to gain weight. This is the only struggle I am having with getting older at this point.

It has been a few weeks now since the season is over. I feel better already! This is the only plus to the season being over I might add.

To some of you it may seem like no great feat, but to me it is huge!

Here I am. See? no muffin top! Do you know how hard it is to take a picture of yourself?

I worked again today until noon. It was busy with the "last minute" men buying Valentine's gift certificates.

You will find me this afternoon having a cocktail with my other Valentine, My BFF, ShaSha. The husband is cooking me Chicken Marsala for dinner. He is a great cook! I just don't like the mess this meal makes.

This is one lady that will not be eating chocolate later. I want to put my spanx away for the winter. Does that sound like a plan? Happy Valentine's Day all!

    1. Thank you so much Monica! You look great and gorgeous yourself! I am guessing you are younger than me though. If your kids tell you that you are cool, then you are! I am SO with you on the lack of metabolism. It is killing me! It was exactly when I hit 40 too. I never had an issue before then. Now I have to watch everything I eat and I am pushing myself to exercise. We can commiserate together! I am so glad I stumbled upon your blog! I hope you had a wonderful Valentine's day as well!

    2. Laura,
I just read your it's ok's and they are awesome!I"m glad to hear that I'm not crazy thinking that my age might be a part of my weight issues! lol Your right about having to watch everything you eat! I hate it. I'm pretty excited though cause I have promised myself that I will work out every morning before work! I've kept my promise for the last few weeks and feel great! It's tough getting up at 5:00 a.m but If I don't work out before work I won't work out at all! So where you from? I live in Colorado and love it here! My husband and I both are natives born, raised and never left! It's a beautiful state and a great place to raise a family. I love my kids so much but look forward to the day they are out on there own! Do you think that sounds weird? I know our Son will stay close and keeping my fingers crossed that our daughter will too. She still has awhile to go before I have to worry about that!We have 3 dogs I love more than anything and would have 4 if Steve would give me the ok but that won't happen!4 would be a lot of work. Well just wanted to drop a line or two! I had a great Valentine's Day I hope you did as well! 3. Hi Monica!
Thank you! You are not crazy, there is definitiely a correlation of age/weight. That is great that you are getting up every morning! Keep going! I know for myself, that if I stop, its hard to get back into it. You are lucky to be living in Colorado. I have never been, but it looks beautiful! I am in MA. I have been here all of my life. We actually live in the town my husband grew up in. Now I have to burst your bubble. I saw a light at the end of the tunnel then someone pulled down the shade, as far as my life moving forward, I had one child left at home while my middle one finished college. Guess what? All of my kids will be back in May for various reasons. I am now back to square one. I am not complaining at all but I thought I would have more travel freedom at this point. I dont at all. I dont think it ever ends. I looked forward to the time it would be easier too. I just dont see it ever happening. I am ok with that. I want them to all have a good life. I just thought it would be different at this point. I sound like a complainer but I am not. I will do anything for my kids. They always come first. I hope you have a great weekend! Nice to hear from you!
